IMPORTANT NOTICE

'In conversion' Clementines

During the week beginning 8.2.10 we noticed that some clementines we had in stock were labelled as 'in conversion'. The boxes containing the clementines were misleading as to the nature of thier contents and all other aspects of documentation were in order, so they passed our initial intake proceedures. As soon as the discrepancy was discovered the clementines were withdrawn from use and only a few boxes were affected.

The term 'in-conversion' can only be applied to produce in it's final year of conversion to organic. The produce will have been grown to the usual organic specifications, but insufficient time will have passed to gain full organic status. The clementines in question, therefore, do not represent any danger to health and should still be reasonably satisfactory to a consumer who wished to eat organic food. All the same, thier inclusion in the boxes, which are certified organic, is improper.

The clementines only went out on one delivery round's worth of boxes before they were withdrawn. This is the Cherry Hinton Rd./Queen Eadiths Way area of Cambridge. If you believe you may have recieved some of these clementines please contact us and we will send you some replacement fruit in your following box.

A full enquiry is now being undertaken by the suppliers of the clementines.
