Here is what the authors have to say...
What's For Tea? is a family-friendly cookbook, sold in aid of a local Cambridge primary school. The book is edited and designed by two Cofco box-users, Bee Wilson ( a food writer) and Hilary Cox ( a Cambridge-based designer). All parents of young children know how difficult it can be to come up with something healthy and nice for the evening meal, which won't be met with groans or outright ingratitude.
What's for Tea? aims to solve the problem. It consists of over a hundred incredibly easy, imaginative recipes from parents, teachers and children at St Matthew's school, ranging from tried and tested nursery favourites (fish pie, syrup pudding) to soups of many colours, from fabulous curries and samosas to gluten and dairy-free baking ideas. A sign of its success is that it has already been excerpted in The Sunday Telegraph magazine, and will soon be featured in the Cambridge Evening
News. As well as being a great cookbook in its own right, What's for Tea? is also a fundraising initiative for the school's green activities.
St Matthew's is a busy city school with a lack of green space. Last autumn a group of parents began a range of green ventures, from planting a mini-avenue of trees to improving the school's recycling. But there is masses still to do, and few resources for doing it. Future plans include a school kitchen garden and willow walks and forested areas for children to play in. Every cookbook sold means more money for these projects, which benefit all the children at the school.
