Simon farms fifty acres of rich fenland soil by the banks of the Great Ouse. Although naturally rich in nitrogen, Simon employs organic techniques to ensure the soil has a full range of nutrients available to the plants he grows. Growing crops in rotation, and ploughing to incorporate the peat with the underlying clay means the soil is naturally fertile, without the needs for chemical fertilizers.
