Saab 9-5 BioPower
Duncan Catchpole, Managing Director of The Cambridge Organic Food Company, has become the first person in Cambridge to own a bio-ethanol powered car. It is a Saab 9-5 BioPower.
Bio-ethanol is a new fuel that is produced from organic raw materials such as wheat and sugar beet. Because these crops will have fixed carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere the car can be considered to be a lot more carbon neutral, even though exhaust emissions are similar to petrol/diesel powered vehicles. Experts have calculated a net 70% less CO2 is released into the atmosphere.
The Car was purchased from local Saab dealer Buckingham & Stanley. To find out more about BioPower Saabs you can visit their website by clicking on the picture below.
