The Prospects Trust is one of our longest standing suppliers and an organization we hold with the highest regard. The Prospects Trust are a charity, based at Snakehall Farm just outside Swaffham Prior, which offers work placements and care to adults with learning difficulties, disabilities or with varying health needs.
Some of the great features at Prospects Trust include a small flock of rescue chickens and a sensory garden created for the benefit of people with profound needs who are unable to join the team ethos of the farm coworkers. The garden's theme is recycling and two of its notable features are a greenhouse made from empty clear plastic bottles, and 'The Snakehall snake'-a sculpture made from recycled tyres. The chickens, which are former battery hens rescued by Wood Green Animal Shelter, have been homed in a 1960's caravan that served as the Trust's office back in the early days. The enclosure has been christened
'Planet Oeuf' and sits adjacent to a nature trail and seating area.
In 2012 The Prospects Trust ran a polytunnel partners appeal in an attempt raise funds to re-skin their polytunnels, which were badly in need of repair. The appeal was written about in the COFCO newsletter and as a result enough money was raised by members of the COFCO box scheme to re-skin one of the polytunnels, which has now been re-named the COFCO polytunnel.
